6th Annual Memorial Ride raises funds for DRHC

Nearly 50 motorcyclists took part in the 6th Annual Memorial Ride in late August 2023 and through their support, helped contribute towards identified needs at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre (DRHC). This year, the Memorial Ride, spearheaded by Tony’s Auto Electric and JDS Laundromat in Dauphin, made its way through Parkland-area communities along Highway 5 and Mountain Road and reached its final destination in Erickson. The 300 kilometre return trip raised a total of $2,200 that was donated to the health centre, through the Dauphin Hospital Foundation.

Nearly 50 motorcyclists, car enthusiasts and supporters took part in the 7th Annual Memorial Ride on August 17, 2024 and through their support, helped contribute towards needs at the Dauphin Regional Health Centre (DRHC).

This year, the Memorial Ride, spearheaded by Tony’s Auto Electric and JDS Laundromat in Dauphin, made its way through the Parkland including the Shoal Lake and Minnedosa areas this year.

Dauphin Health Care Auxiliary wraps up with final contributions

The Dauphin Health Care Auxiliary completed its final act of business February 9, with two cheques presented to the Dauphin Hospital Foundation designated for use within both the hospital and personal care home.  Auxiliary executive members signed off on two donations, of $23,156 each, to be used for future contributions to both facilities.  The Auxiliary officially announced it was ceasing operation back on January 12, 2022 after 120 years of volunteer service and fundraising efforts.

Dauphin Hospital Foundation assists surgical program

The Dauphin Hospital Foundation recently contributed $21,000 for the purchase of two hysteroscopes for the Dauphin Regional Health Centre. A hysteroscope is a thin, surgical telescope that is able to display images of the inside of a uterus. It is an important tool used to further advance women’s health in rural Manitoba. Dauphin Hospital Foundation contributes to staff initiative

The Dauphin Hospital Foundation’s overarching vision and mission is to support and enhance services and programs for residents, patients, clients and staff of the Dauphin Regional Health Centre (DRHC). 

The Foundation is well-known for equipment purchases at the hospital, personal care home and community health services building. Supporting initiatives that can benefit staff is equally important.

Dauphin Hospital Foundation looks back at 2024

As the calendar flipped to 2025, the Dauphin Hospital Foundation looked back at key accomplishments and highlights during the past year. Board Chairperson Greg Thompson says the Foundation can’t say thank you enough for all the heartfelt contributions and donations received in 2024. Dauphin Hospital Foundation receives donation from Legion

Ahead of Remembrance Day, the Dauphin Hospital Foundation recently received a generous donation from the Royal Canadian Legion Dauphin Branch #20 Poppy Fund.  The donation, in the amount of $8,965 will be used to purchase blood pressure monitors for the Dauphin Regional Health Centre’s Palliative Care Unit.

The Dauphin Hospital Foundation was pleased to recently receive a generous donation from the Royal Canadian Legion Dauphin Branch #20 Poppy Fund just prior to Remembrance Day.  The donation, in the amount of $8,650 will be used to purchase three specialized wheelchairs for the Dauphin Regional Health Centre.

Dauphin Hospital Foundation supports DRHC staff to enhance their skills

With an added focus on recruitment and retention of healthcare professionals across the Province, the Dauphin Hospital Foundation has worked hard over the past few years to enhance a staff education fund that can be accessed by Dauphin Regional Health Centre (DRHC) employees. The Delha Cort Educational Trust is an endowment fund that is administered by the Board of Directors of the Dauphin Hospital Foundation. The fund remains invested, with the interest gained available to be distributed to successful applicants for the advancement of their education and skills. 

Dauphin Hospital Foundation welcomes Legion donation

The Dauphin Hospital Foundation recently received a generous donation from the Royal Canadian Legion (RCL) Dauphin Branch #20 Poppy Fund. The donation, in the amount of $7,100 will be used to purchase a blood pressure machine and a mattress for the Dauphin Regional Health Centre’s Palliative Care Unit.

Dauphin Regional Health Centre Cancer Care Unit receives new screens

The Dauphin Hospital Foundation continues to put generous contributions towards needs at Dauphin Regional Health Centre. Recently, the Foundation assisted with the purchase of privacy screens for patients receiving treatment within the Dauphin Cancer Care Unit. The total contribution was just over $10,000.

Donations benefit Dauphin facilities and programs

The St. Viator’s Catholic Women’s League (SVCWL) in Dauphin chose to contribute to some great causes after seeing successful fundraising initiatives in recent months. The Dauphin Personal Care Home (Activities Fund), St. Paul’s Personal Care Home (Activities Fund) and Dauphin Palliative Care Program each received a cheque for $1,000. The group also presented cheques to Ronald McDonald House and the STARS Air Ambulance Program.

Hospital Foundation funds specialized equipment purchase

Operating Room patients at Dauphin Regional Health Centre will benefit from a recent contribution through the Dauphin Hospital Foundation.  The Foundation provided over $59,000 to purchase a specialized operating room table for the surgical suite. Large estate donation for Dauphin Hospital Foundation

The Dauphin Hospital Foundation wishes to formally recognize a bequest from the estate of Anne Stewart. Mrs. Stewart passed away on January 23, 2021 and left the Foundation $100,000. This was on top of a $15,000 donation Anne personally made to the Foundation in 2020 in memory of her husband Peter. Dauphin Hospital Foundation Chairman Greg Thompson indicated the Board remains truly touched by this act of generosity.

Making a difference for nearly 35 years: The Dauphin Hospital Foundation

The Dauphin Hospital Foundation has kept an eye on its past and is looking ahead to its future as the volunteer group embarks on 35 years of giving back to the community and area through the Dauphin Regional Health Centre (DRHC), Personal Care Home and Community Health Building.

Memorial Ride raises funds for DRHC

Nearly 100 motorcyclists took part in the 5th Annual Memorial Ride in late August 2022 as participants and supporters contributed towards fundraising efforts for the Dauphin Regional Health Centre (DRHC). The Memorial Ride made its way through Parkland-area communities, which included a route that ended up in Rossburn.

New treatment chairs for DRHC Cancer Care Unit

The recently renovated cancer care unit on the main floor of the Dauphin Regional Health Centre received some needed equipment thanks to the Dauphin Hospital Foundation. Two heated Inverness recliner chairs, at a total cost of nearly $16-thousand, were purchased for the Unit. Patients have indicated the chairs are very comfortable and that having a side table on the chair allows them to hold items in place while they receive treatment.
