Large estate donation for Dauphin Hospital Foundation

The Dauphin Hospital Foundation wishes to formally recognize a bequest from the estate of Anne Stewart. Mrs. Stewart passed away on January 23, 2021 and left the Foundation $100,000. This was on top of a $15,000 donation Anne personally made to the Foundation in 2020 in memory of her husband Peter. Dauphin Hospital Foundation Chairman Greg Thompson indicated the Board remains truly touched by this act of generosity.

The Dauphin Hospital Foundation has kept an eye on its past and is looking ahead to its future as the volunteer group embarks on 35 years of giving back to the community and area through the Dauphin Regional Health Centre (DRHC), Personal Care Home and Community Health Building.

Memorial Ride raises funds for DRHC

Nearly 100 motorcyclists took part in the 5th Annual Memorial Ride in late August 2022 as participants and supporters contributed towards fundraising efforts for the Dauphin Regional Health Centre (DRHC). The Memorial Ride made its way through Parkland-area communities, which included a route that ended up in Rossburn.

New treatment chairs for DRHC Cancer Care Unit

The recently renovated cancer care unit on the main floor of the Dauphin Regional Health Centre received some needed equipment thanks to the Dauphin Hospital Foundation. Two heated Inverness recliner chairs, at a total cost of nearly $16-thousand, were purchased for the Unit. Patients have indicated the chairs are very comfortable and that having a side table on the chair allows them to hold items in place while they receive treatment.

Parkland Rangers donate to DRHC cancer care

Members of the U18 AAA Parkland Rangers were on hand in three local communities January 12 to present proceeds from their ‘Hockey Fights Cancer Night’, which was held back on Oct. 25, 2022 when the team played host to the U18 Brandon Wheat Kings.

Parkland Rangers Hockey Fights Cancer Night another success

Members of the U18 AAA Parkland Rangers were on hand in three local communities December 14,2023 to present proceeds from their ‘Hockey Fights Cancer Night’, which was held back on October 20 when the team played host to the U18 Brandon Wheat Kings. The annual recognition night raised a total of $4,000 dollars, with a split of $1,338 presented to three Community Cancer Programs within the Prairie Mountain Health region.
