Large estate donation for Dauphin Hospital Foundation
The Dauphin Hospital Foundation wishes to formally recognize a bequest from the estate of Anne Stewart. Mrs. Stewart passed away on January 23, 2021 and left the Foundation $100,000. This was on top of a $15,000 donation Anne personally made to the Foundation in 2020 in memory of her husband Peter. Dauphin Hospital Foundation Chairman Greg Thompson indicated the Board remains truly touched by this act of generosity.
“Anne passed away at the age of 94, but she always had the best interests of her community at heart. She recognized the important role the Dauphin Regional Health Centre has in providing care to community residents and left a lasting legacy to further enhance the types of services that are provided at our hospital,” Thompson stated.
Thompson says one of the areas the funds will go towards is the completion of the DRHC Palliative Care project. A big part of the project is purchasing the remaining two special care beds for the Palliative Care Unit.
“Anne was an avid baseball fan and always watched games on TV. We would like to think she has helped hit a home run for patients and residents of our health centre with this extremely generous act.”
